If the Birds can't get their top OT what if they took this guy at S? He seems like a good fit. Here is some info.

H W 40 Bench
DaJuan Morgan*, NC State 6-1 200 4.55 21

War Room analysis
Coverage skills: Combines athleticism, speed and instincts to be effective in all areas. Reads quarterbacks well in solo or two-deep alignment. Breaks quickly, and uses speed to make plays to the perimeter. Delivers big hits. Shows the quickness, hip movements and speed to cover tight ends and slot receivers man-to-man. Stays with receivers well in "trail" coverage on seam routes. Grade: 7.5

Run/pass recognition: Is instinctive; reads and reacts quickly. Isn't fooled by play-action fakes or misdirection. Reads plays quickly to help cornerbacks with over-the-top sideline coverage. Flies into flats to tackle running backs on screen passes. Grade: 8.0

Closing speed: Shows an explosive burst to finish plays. Reaches full speed fast, and recovers well in coverage. Pursues ballcarriers well. Has legitimate deep speed to cover tight ends down the seam. Grade: 8.0

Ball skills: Makes plays to break up passes or intercept them if in position. Shows the hands and concentration to catch tipped passes. Grade: 7.5

Run support: Flies to ballcarrier to make tackles, but must become more consistent. Moves through traffic well, finds target, takes good angles and has a good finishing burst. Occasionally will dive or lunge and miss tackles, but delivers strong, violent hits. Stays under control and balanced to adjust and make open-field tackles. Grade: 8.0

Bottom line: Morgan made the right decision to enter the draft after his junior season. He will compete with fellow junior Kenny Phillips to be the top safety selected. Morgan will be equally valuable against the run and in coverage. The more one evaluates Morgan, the more his talent and athleticism show up. Morgan fits the new profile of being interchangeable in the strong and free safety roles.

My assumption is we could trade back several picks from 19 if we wanted to take Morgan. He's more of a late first to early second round prospect, to my knowledge. That said, I'd be okay with it. I like his upside a lot more than Kenny Phillips, who's simply a lesser Mike Lewis or Roy Williams. Good athleticism and the ability to play either position would count in his favor a great deal as far as the Eagles are concerned.

I have heard people say (Mike Mayock) that since he was more athletic in the combine per his #'s/stats that he now thought that he would be the #1 Safety and go before Phillips does.

He red-shirted his freshman year, but played three solid years at NC State. He did, however, sit out his senior year in prep school due to a dislocated hip suffered in a car accident.
